Nemo’s Dive Club & Hotel answers a frequently asked question from our guests:

‘How much do I tip hotel staff, dive center staff or crew?‘

Our advice:

In Egypt, tipping is common. Of course, each customer is free to do so, but this is seen here as an expression of the customer’s appreciation for the efforts and services rendered by the personnel;
At Nemo Dive Club & Hotel, about 45 people work in the hotel, on the boat and in the dive center.
Some you see every day, others work behind the scenes. All Nemo employees are committed daily to providing the best possible service to each guest and hope that this commitment is rewarded. They are certainly satisfied with a “thank you” or pat on the back but a small financial compensation is very gladly accepted.
So are you satisfied with their services we like to give as a guideline:

• 3 euros per day per guest.All tips received will be divided evenly among all hotel or boat staff.

When you are satisfied with the service of our staff, a tip is a nice thank you.
We provide 2 envelopes in your room 2 days before departure:

• 1 for boat crew and dive center staff (you can give this to the boat captain or to Mostafa)
• 1 for hotel staff. (There is a tip box at the front desk)

We hope this bit of interpretation can be a guideline for all our guests and we have been of service with this.
