‘Baksheesh’ or tip – a token of appreciation

At Nemo’s Dive Club & Hotel, we often get the question:

How much do I tip the Nemo team and the Dory team?
Our tip:
In Egypt, tipping is very normal. Of course this is completely optional, but it is seen as a nice appreciation for the commitment and service of our team.
At Nemo, about 40 team members are committed to the hotel and 8 team members on the boat and in the dive center. Some you see every day, others work behind the scenes, but all do their utmost to make your stay and diving experience as pleasant as possible. A smile or a thank you is certainly appreciated, but a small financial token of appreciation really makes a difference.

A small gesture to thank the team? Here’s a great guideline:
€5 per day per guest

Two days before departure you will find two envelopes in your room :
1 for the crew and dive crew (you can give it to the captain or to Mostafa)
1 for the hotel team (there is a tip box at reception)
All tips are distributed fairly so that the whole team is rewarded for their efforts. With your contribution, you will help create a nice working environment and make sure that everyone continues to welcome you with the same smile!

Another little insider tip: Our team loves not only tipping, but also… chocolate! Do you still have a small spot in your suitcase? A piece of chocolate will make them at least as happy as a nice dip in the blue water!
We also have a vegan team member, and she loves Hellmans plant-based mayo for with the fries.
