With your instructor
Practice using a compass on the surface and then apply your skills underwater during three dives. Learn how to estimate distances, follow natural directions and practice finding your way back to the boat or shore.
- Prerequisites: PADI (Junior) Open Water (or eligible entry-level certification).
- Total time required: 2-3 days
- Minimum age: 10 years or older

If you are a PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver who is at least 10 years old, you can enroll in the PADI Underwater Navigator Specialty course.
e-Learning:
Get a code from your instructor that allows you to log into the PADI site. You then do the theory online at your own pace. Once you complete your theoretical exam, you can schedule practical dives in consultation with your instructor.
