Nemo, the small, cute, orange fish we divers, with or without a camera, just can’t get enough of. Well, let me tell you that the dive hotel “Nemo” in Safaga did not steal its name. For me, it is a place that I keep returning to and where I always return home with a smile on my face.

Right from your arrival you are welcomed by the super sweet staff. Then you are taken to your room and everything is indicated and explained: the safe, handy fridge for cool drinks in desert temperatures, a practical bathroom with soaps and shampoo (saves on luggage) and lovely towels of Egyptian cotton…At the reception every morning you get a nice fresh beach towel for on the boat, at the pool, on the private beach, so that’s also very handy. Since the restaurant is on the roof, you have a great view. The guys make nice cocktails (o yeah love the Caipiroshka), there is a delicious buffet, so there is something for everyone and ….KKER!

After breakfast, hoppa onto the boat, which is moored just a short walk from the door. You are always greeted enthusiastically by the captain and his crew who help you with everything, really with EVERYTHING. You find a nice spot in the shade or the sun, and “en route” … to the first, second…dive site. Nice quiet dives, “some scurrying among the fish” a buddy and I called it and as always “you never know what you will meet in the blue”…. Last time very very close encounter with 5 dolphins, still get goose bumps thinking about it!

After returning, you can rest from all the diving and laze around on the boat, at the pool or on the beach…. Very tiring 😉 as all divers know very well, and so it goes day after day, unless you want to make a trip in between. Give me a nice place, with nice people and then “dive eat sleep repeat”…. Do we, divers, want anything else but… nope, Nemo ….my wonderful dive retreat, close to home….
